Nova Scotia Sea Kayaking on the Eastern Shore

Chedabucto Bay and the Eastern Shore is a renowned Nova Scotia sea kayaking destination.

You can begin your Eastern Shore sea kayaking adventure at Osprey Shores Resort by launching your sea kayak from our boat launch in Mussel Cove.  The scenic coves and islands of Guysborough Harbour provide an enjoyable day of kayaking among the harbour seals. Click here to go to Mussel Cove.

A scenic 20 minute drive from Osprey Shores down highway 16 will take you to the Fox Island beach which is an excellent launching area for sea kayakers in the legendary Fogarty’s Cove area.  Another 10 minutes down the road and you are at the Canso Islands, a collection of small islands and remarkable geological formations which make it a very popular sea kayaking spot.  The area along the Atlantic Coast is very rugged and best suited for experienced paddlers while the area along Chedabucto Bay can be enjoyed by sea kayakers with less experience.

Sea kayak rentals are available at the Authentic Seacoast Distillery & Brewery. There are hourly, half-day, daily and weekly sea kayak and canoe rentals available.
