Food & Beverage

After working up an appetite with the exceptional golf at Osprey Shores, the restaurants of the Authentic Seacoast Company are ready to help you wind down with some great food & spirits.

East Coast Fun at the Rare Bird
Located in the historic Jost building on the Guysborough waterfront, the Rare Bird Pub serves up fresh fish & chips, Guysburgers and Rare Bird Craft Beer from a takeout window on the harbourfront deck. The Chronicle Herald described the Rare Bird deck as "one of the nicest patios in Nova Scotia" and Where Canada named the Rare Bird "one of Canada's 10 great craft beer destinations".

The Authentic Seacoast Distillery & Brewery
The tasting room at the Authentic Seacoast Distillery & Brewery located at Osprey Shores is the perfect spot to unwind with family and friends. Enjoy our award-winning spirits and craft beer in the light filled room with soaring Douglas Fir timbers or relax on the comfy leather sofas by the magnificent stone fireplace. Craft beer and spirits are available for take away sales and tours are available. Learn more about tours here.

Award Winning Nova Scotia Dining
On the hill above the harbour, the award winning
DesBarres Manor Inn restaurant excites the senses with contemporary East Coast cuisine. Nova Scotia’s 2008 Cuisine of the Year, the DesBarres Manor culinary team sources local ingredients along with herbs and vegetables from the Manor’s organic garden to create daily seasonal menus that represent the best of the East Coast dining. Have a romantic dinner by the Manor’s 18th century hearth fireplace or dine outside on the verandah. The Chef’s seasonally inspired menus are complemented by the Proprietor’s extensive wine collection and warm, attentive service.

Skipping Stone Cafe & Store on the Harbour

Enjoy light breakfasts, sandwiches, chili and daily soups. Pull up a chair at the large communal “canoe” table or find a quiet spot for yourself inside or out on the deck with scenic harbour views. The cafe has free WiFi for patrons.

With more than 101 things to do on the Nova Scotia Authentic Seacoast, the best lunch is a picnic on one of Chedabucto Bay’s many beaches, coves, trails and nature areas. Go to  Osprey Shores team to have a picnic lunch specially made for your Nova Scotia adventure.
